ATHLETES

MAKE SURE NCAA COACHES SEE YOU ARE A RISING STAR!

The NCAA currently has approximately 2200 colleges and universities that offer scholarship award money for student athletes. There are approximately 150,000 scholarships awarded for student athletes each year but the competition is fierce. For example in basketball alone there are 600,000 high school students competing for NCAA scholarships. In Canada there are 700,000 thousand students attending publicly funded secondary schools and only a very small amount will pursue an athletic scholarship. You will need a professional presentation to be noticed amongst more than a million other students from not only the USA and Canada but around the world.

  • Only 1 in 300 Canadian Athletes will have the opportunity to experience athletics in the NCAA as a scholarship athlete.
  • Keep your grades in high school as high as possible, coaches have a set budget for athletic scholarship dollars and the higher your grades the better chance they can arrange academic dollars as well.
  • Treat your body as a temple, stay in shape, eat right and most importantly stay focused and positive.
  • When you or your team is playing or at a college showcase event remember NCAA coaches are not only watching your play, it’s about attitude, demeanor (especially when things aren't going your way), warm up and behavior off the field, so act professional at all times.
